star seafood, cortez florida..

this is a classic crummy but good...food served in cardboard boxes, go up to the window and order, cash only, picnic tables as dining tables and becoming more and more crowded each year..its on 123 street in cortez...same lady behind the counter for the past few years, same menu...i had grouper blackened which was good..the others in our party and there were 5 of us...had all sorts of different fish, each of which was good and each of which was served in those boxes...we happened on this place a couple of years ago when we saw the sign half off the building and we knew we were in for a treat...dont expect anything in any way fancy but if you want cheap and good..this place is great...we may want to look for another place next year since we had to wait on line for about 15 minutes to order and we are impatient kinda people...

sarasota florida...

have gone to the southeast vet ophth meeting every year and this year, we went back to Cragers on North Tamiami trail about a mile or 2 past the sarasota airport...home sqeezed o.j. in a mason jar and great breakfasts....good coffee....bill had a southwest omellete and i had a western...great and good service..a little bit classy when you consider all the crummy but goods we go to but worth the extra drive from snooty st armands circle stores and prices....

S.Deerfield, Mass...

i was in east bum-f..k, mass at a Red Roof inn where there was no breakfast and asked...lo and behold , a mile walk later in "downtown" S.Deerfield, Mass. was Jerrys Place at the crossroads and stop sign.....the best home fries i have had in a long time...and the breakfast (western omelette, rye toast and the above named home fries ) with tip was 8 bucks...so if ever in that neck of the woods..theres the breakfast joint...
